The Capiz State University (CAPSU) – Roxas City Main Campus held its 11th Moving-Up Ceremony and 22nd Recognition Day to honor the Junior High School (JHS) completers and academic awardees of the Laboratory High School (LHS) on March 31, 2026, at the Dadivas Gymnasium. The ceremony was held with the theme, “Filipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character.”

In his address, CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan warmly welcomed the attendees and shared four valuable life lessons: that dreams may start small but can grow beyond expectations; that hard work and consistency matter more than talent; that failures are part of success; and that kindness and character are as important as intelligence.

“As you grow older, you will meet many people who are smart. But the people who truly stand out are those who are both capable and kind, those who work hard but remain humble, those who succeed without stepping on others, and those who lift people up,” Dr. Linan said.

Before concluding his message, Dr. Linan expressed his sincere appreciation to the parents and teachers for their unwavering support and guidance, which have been instrumental in shaping the students’ academic journey and character.

“Thank you for loving them in practical ways—by being present, by being firm when needed, by encouraging them when they were discouraged, and by teaching them what truly matters. And to our teachers, thank you for being more than just educators. You are builders of confidence. You are planters of hope. You are the ones who see potential even when a child does not see it yet.”

The event was graced by Ms. Ella Mae A. Pondantes, a proud LHS alumna from Batch 2015, as guest speaker, who shared inspiring insights with the completers. Meanwhile, Charise Angel A. Operio, who received the highest distinction in her batch, delivered a message on behalf of the graduating class.

Present at the activity were Dr. Annalie G. Campos, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Jay Ann B. Gregorio, Director of Student Affairs and Services; Dr. Cleo Jude A. Joaquin, Main Campus Focal Person; Dr. Susan A. Diosalan, Dean of the College of Education (COEd); Dr. Emmanuel D. Dayalo, Student Affairs and Services (SAS) Chairperson of the Main Campus; Prof. Christie T. Tanalgo, LHS Program Chair; and COEd faculty and staff, whose collective support and efforts contributed to the success of the event. | via Marco Jeslie B. Tuazon, CAPSU-PIO
