CAPSU Burias Campus started as a municipal high school established in the town of Mambusao in 1946. It started with the first two years of the general high school curriculum with 137 students and turned out its first batch of 33 graduates in 1948. Republic Act No. 2088 was passed by Congress on June 22, 1958 converting the Mambusao High School to Panay Agricultural College.
On May 1, 1960, Congress passed Republic Act 2802 changing the name Panay Agricultural School to Mambusao National Agricultural School (MANAS), and then Republic Act No. 3763 passed on June 22, 1963 converting the school to Mambusao Agricultural and Technical College (MATEC) with a college curriculum designed for academic leadership and vocational excellence in agriculture.
From 1963 to 1980, the school continued to grow. Several people came to lead the growing number of faculty and staf and students whose number also continued to increase due to the opening of the various courses.
On December 24, 1980, after seven years of lobbying for the conversion of the school into a state college, President Ferdinand E. Marcos signed into law Batas Pambansa Blg. 91, converting Mambusao Agricultural and Technical College long with the Capiz Agricultural and Fishery School, into the Panay State Polytechnic College.
On March 21, 2004, Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo signed R.A. 9273 converting Panay State Polytechnic College into Capiz State University.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program utilizes an integrated approach to study the interrelationships among the different functional areas of business and examine how the effective orchestration of these different components of business operations can lead to organizational success. At the end of the program, students are expected to appreciate the economic, social, technological as well as legal environments within which all businesses must operate, and possess the basic business knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to effectively lead an organization and achieve the desiredresults.

a. BSBA major in Human Resource Management(BSBA-HRM)
The Human Resource Management Program prepares the graduate for a career in the Human Resources Department of any organization, handling the many diverse human capital requirements of the organization, including recruitment, staffing, training and career development.

b. BSBA major in Marketing Management(BSBA-MM)
The Marketing Management program prepares the graduate for careers in marketing, market research, advertising and public relations. The curriculum provides the graduate with both technical skills and competencies required in the field, but also the flexible mindset that is necessary to stay competitive in a constantly changing businessenvironment.

c. BSBA major in Financial Management(BSBA-FM)
The Financial Management program prepares the graduates for various careersinfinancial management as well asinrelated fields, including but not limited to, corporate finance, investment management, banking, credit, trust operations, insurance, foreign currency markets, money markets, capital markets, and other financial securities markets. The curriculum provides the graduate with xnowledgeonfinancial institutions and technical skills based on established financial theories, methooologies, and various analytical tools. It also promotes an outlook that is based primarilyonethics, market integrity, regulations, good governance and competitive global perspective, necessary for effective financial decision making.
