Capiz State University (CAPSU) formally commenced its three-day Online Accreditation Survey Visit under the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on March 23, 2026, held at the Board Room of the Central Administration Building, CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus, and via Zoom.

The activity marks a significant step in the University’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence, as five programs from the College of Education at the Roxas City Main Campus undergo evaluation for Level III and Level IV accreditation.

The programs included in the survey visit are the Bachelor of Physical Education (Level IV), Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science (Level IV), Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education major in Home Economics and Industrial Arts (Level IV), Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management (Level IV), and Master of Arts in Education major in Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health (Level III).

The opening program featured a message from Dr. Annalie G. Campos, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who reaffirmed the University’s commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Dr. Rossandrew B. Villaruel, Director for Quality Assurance, presented the key officials, the programs for evaluation, and formally introduced the accreditation team. This was followed by the statement of purpose delivered by Dr. Reynaldo T. Gelido, accreditation coordinator from Pangasinan State University, who underscored the importance of the evaluation process in ensuring academic standards and institutional growth.

Dr. Miraluna T. Sabid, Chairperson for Quality Assurance of the Roxas City Main Campus, also presented the Local Task Force, emphasizing the collective effort of faculty, staff, and administrators in preparing for the accreditation.

The accreditation survey team was composed of experts from various state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the country. Dr. Reynaldo T. Gelido of Pangasinan State University served as the overall coordinator.

For the Bachelor of Physical Education program, Dr. Alonzo L. Mortejo of Bataan Peninsula State University acted as team leader, with Dr. Jazmin P. Cubillo of Cavite State University as member. The Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science was evaluated by Dr. Wilma R. Lontoc of Mindoro State University as team leader, alongside Prof. Karen P. Andres of President Ramon Magsaysay State University as member.

For the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education major in Home Economics and Industrial Arts, the team was headed by Dr. Mark R. Limon of Mariano Marcos State University, with Dr. Elsie M. Canlas of President Ramon Magsaysay State University as member. The Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management was evaluated by Dr. Job D. Paguio of Bataan Peninsula State University as team leader, with Dr. Romeo J. Redulla of Davao Oriental State University as member.

Meanwhile, the Master of Arts in Education major in Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health was assessed by Dr. Jenny V. Esiong of Benguet State University as team leader, together with Dr. Alfonso L. Garcia Jr. of Sorsogon State University and Dr. Liza M.
