𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘻𝘯𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦.
Capiz State University (CAPSU), the Office of Hon. Howard A. Guintu, and the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) – Capiz Chapter have come together to develop DISENYO 2026—a landmark student-centered design competition that will showcase the creativity, cultural depth, and sustainable vision of future architects.
To set the project in motion, a kickoff planning meeting was held at the Accreditation Room of the CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus on February 27, 2026. Representative Guintu attended the meeting with key university officials and the organizing committee to align on the competition’s core objectives and technical framework.
Dr. Salvacion J. Legaspi, Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages, welcomed Cong. Guintu and his party on behalf of University President Dr. Efren L. Linan. She was joined by Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Prof. Malou B. Albor, Acting National and International Affairs Director; and Dr. Peter John D. Fantinalgo, Program Coordinator and CEAT Faculty Member, who presented the initial guidelines and key details of the competition.
During the discussion, Cong. Guintu expressed strong support for the initiative and highlighted its potential to elevate local talent. He shared a strategic vision for the competition, encouraging designs that could evolve into viable infrastructure projects that will serve local communities, attract tourism and investment, and provide a training ground for Capiznon youth as they prepare to compete at the national and international levels.
The CAPSU leadership and committee members conveyed their appreciation to Cong. Guintu for his trust and commitment to empowering the province’s future architects. The project is set to launch in May 2026, with the awarding and exhibition slated for October 2026.
