Key officials of Capiz State University (CAPSU) participated in a dual-purpose virtual event held on February 27, 2026, marking the official inauguration of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) and World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI) Joint World Ranking, along with the launch of the Award for Highly Ranked Universities 2026 & 2027.

The university was represented by Dr. Rossandrew B. Villaruel, Quality Assurance Director; Prof. Jocelyn S. Legaspi, Extension Director; Prof. French A. Dampog, IPMO Director; and Mr. Czar Nelson Guzman, Administrative Office II, Quality Assurance Office.

The webinar provided a comprehensive overview of the WURI-AUAP ranking framework, detailing the specific criteria and evaluation processes. Keynote speakers—including Prof. Anoop Swarup, Secretary General of AUAP; Prof. Don-Sung Cho, Founder and Chair of WURI Foundation; and Dr. Kyung-Sung Kim, President of iSTAT (the official partner of WURI Foundation)—shared insights on how institutions can better document their innovative practices.

The activity serves as a strategic guide for CAPSU in aligning its technological and community-based initiatives with international benchmarks. By engaging with these global platforms, the university aims to ensure that its local contributions and research outputs are systematically recognized, strengthening its commitment to delivering impactful service to the community.
