Capiz State University Sigma Satellite College warmly welcomed its alumni during the 2nd Grand Alumni Homecoming held on December 27, 2025, at the CAPSU Sigma Cultural Center. The event gathered graduates from different generations in a joyful reunion marked by shared memories, pride, and gratitude. Guided by the theme “Pagkilit-anay, Paghanduraw, kag Pagpasalamat,” the celebration highlighted reconnection, reflection, and appreciation for the institution that shaped countless lives.

The day opened with a lively town-wide caravan and parade that brought together alumni, students, and members of the local community. This was followed by a Holy Mass offered in thanksgiving for the continued growth, accomplishments, and blessings received by the college. These activities set a meaningful tone for the rest of the program, blending faith, community spirit, and academic pride.
University officials and alumni leaders shared messages of welcome and inspiration. Among them were Dr. Efren L. Linan, SUC President III; Dr. Eimee D. Potato, Satellite College Director; Dr. Fortunato A. Azarcon, Alumni Association President; Dr. Salvacion J. Legaspi, Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages; and Prof. Edgar Gallardo, a proud member of the pioneering Batch 1976. Their messages reflected on CapSU Sigma’s journey through the years while expressing hope and commitment to its future.
A brief presentation on the history of Capiz State University Sigma Satellite College allowed alumni to look back on the milestones that shaped the institution and reaffirmed its important role in education and nation-building.
Recognition and appreciation were key highlights of the program. Retirees were honored with Plaques of Recognition, while certificates were awarded to members of the Working Committee, batch coordinators, and newly elected Alumni Association officers. Special awards and the “Christmas Tree for a Cause” further showcased the alumni’s generosity and dedication to service.
The celebration was enriched by cultural performances and lively entertainment. Intermission numbers featured the 1st Runner-Up of the CAPSU Culture and the Arts Festival 2025 Philippine Folk Dance Competition, coached by Dr. Reynaldo G. Peralta, as well as performances by the CAPSU Sigma Retirees and The Sayaw Sidlak Dance Company under the guidance of Prof. Rocel B. Ituriaga. A “Unity Dance” brought alumni together onstage, symbolizing solidarity and shared purpose. The excitement continued with the “Alumni Got Talent” competition, highlighting performances in both Solo/Duo and Group categories.
Another meaningful moment was the oath-taking of the newly elected Alumni Association officers, administered by Dr. Efren L. Linan, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening alumni engagement and support for the university. After the closing remarks by Prof. Davidica L. Avelino, Director of Alumni and Community Affairs, the event transitioned into a relaxed social gathering hosted by alumnus Lucca L. Vestidas. The evening concluded with fellowship over a shared meal and an energetic disco featuring a live band.
The success of the 2nd Grand Alumni Homecoming was made possible through the dedication and teamwork of the Working Committee, led by overall chairpersons Dr. Eimee D. Potato and Dr. Fortunato A. Azarcon.
