The Capiz State University (CAPSU) Sportsfest and Conference, alongside the Culture and the Arts Festival, concluded on a high note as CAPSUnians celebrated their victories in various competitions.
Dayao Satellite College proved to be the powerhouse in the sports category, dominating the field with a haul of 84 gold, 52 silver, and 22 bronze medals. The Roxas City Main Campus followed in second with 56 gold, 95 silver, and 56 bronze medals, while Dumarao Satellite College rounded out the top three with 55 gold, 14 silver, and 24 bronze medals.
In the Culture and the Arts competition, the Roxas City Main Campus emerged as the overall champion. Pontevedra Campus secured the first runner-up spot, while Burias Campus placed as second runner-up.
The awarding ceremony took place during the finale of the cultural competition at the Dadivas Gym, Roxas City Main Campus, on December 13, 2025.
University President Dr. Efren L. Linan led key officials in gracing the event, where deafening cheers from supporters nearly raised the roof of the gym as contestants showcased their talents in song and dance.
Joining Dr. Linan were Dr. Annalie G. Campos, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension; Prof. Angeline L. Vestidas, Director for Socio-Cultural Affairs; and Dr. Eduardo I. Diosalan, Jr., Director for Sports Services.
Main Campus Focal Person, Campus Administrators, Satellite College Directors, and faculty members are also in attendance to support their contestants.
Congressman Ivan Howard A. Guinto, representative of the First District of Capiz, also attended. He joined the university key officials in witnessing the CAPSUnians’ world-class performances.
The winners of this year’s events are set to represent CAPSU in the upcoming regional competitions for state colleges and universities.
