The Capiz State University (CAPSU), in collaboration with the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) and Filamer Christian University (FCU), successfully hosted the CapizConnect: Volunteerism and Province-wide Action Mobilization on December 2, 2025, at the 2nd Floor Event Center of SM City Roxas, Arnaldo Boulevard, Roxas City, Capiz.

The event brought together volunteer champions, organizations, institutions, youth leaders, and community members to showcase transformative initiatives, inspire civic engagement, and strengthen partnerships for collective development efforts across the province.
Representing CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan, Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, Vice President for Administration and Finance, warmly welcomed participants, exhibitors, and mallgoers. In her message, she emphasized the importance of the activity in fostering unity and shared responsibility.
“Capiz State University is so honored to be the lead organizer of this noble event, together with the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency and the Filamer Christian University, bringing together various stakeholders, organizations, and individuals to promote volunteerism and community service,” Dr. Martelino said.
Addressing the attendees, she added: “We believe that together, we can create a ripple effect of kindness and make a lasting difference in the lives of those around us. Let us make the most of this event, and may it be a catalyst for further action and progress. Together, we can achieve greater heights,” she said, underscoring that collective action helps build more resilient, compassionate, and empowered communities.
Mr. Donald James D. Gawe, PNVSCA Executive Director, presented the rationale of the activity, highlighting the role of volunteerism in national and local development.
Messages of support were also delivered by local government leaders: Capiz Governor Fredenil H. Castro, represented by Atty. Luvim D. Amores, Public Information Officer and Concurrent Human Resource Management Officer of the Provincial Government of Capiz; and Roxas City Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas, represented by Hon. Earl C. Sicad, Roxas City Councilor.
To formally close the program, FCU President Dr. George O. Cortel, represented by Mr. Jorgen M. Gregorio, FCU Vice President for Administration delivered the closing message, acknowledging the collaborative efforts that made the event a success.
By convening government agencies, higher education institutions, civil society groups, NGOs, private and corporate sectors, and community members, the expo reaffirmed that volunteerism remains a vital force in fostering inclusive and sustainable development in Capiz and beyond.
