The Capiz State University (CAPSU) Burias Campus successfully hosted the Joint Hybrid Validation Visit of the Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Agriculture programs on October 16, 2025. The activity was conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) and Technical Evaluators as part of the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) application process.

The event began with welcome remarks from Dr. Rodyard B. Madiclum, Campus Administrator, followed by a message from Dr. Efren L. Linan, University President, delivered on his behalf by Dr. Hazel D. Joaquin, University Director for Instruction.

Dr. Joaquin expressed her gratitude to CHED for its continued guidance in ensuring the quality and relevance of CAPSU’s graduate programs.

Dr. Benrie James Nufable, Education Supervisor II and RQAT representative, formally presented the members of the RQAT and Technical Evaluators. The validation then proceeded to the evaluation proper, featuring program presentations from Dr. Ramonita C. Verano, Program Chair of the Master of Science in Agriculture, and Dr. Ryan T. Sarimong, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Forestry and Chair of the PhD in Agriculture program.

During the assessment, Dr. Noli L. Gerona and Dr. Hanzel L. Pedrosa, members of the RQAT and technical panel, led the evaluation for the COPC application, examining compliance with academic standards, faculty qualifications, research outputs, and instructional facilities.

In the closing program, the RQAT and Technical Evaluators presented their findings and recommendations, followed by words of commitment from Dr. Madiclum, reaffirming the campus’s dedication to continuous improvement and quality assurance. Dr. Ma. Venus B. Lozada, Chair of the Quality Assurance Office, delivered the closing remarks, highlighting the university’s commitment to providing globally competitive graduate education.

The joint validation visit marked a significant step toward strengthening CAPSU Burias’ graduate programs, ensuring alignment with CHED standards and the institution’s mission to advance agricultural education and research in the region.
