The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VI (CHEDRO VI), through its Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT), visited Capiz State University (CAPSU) – Roxas City Main Campus on Wednesday, October 22.

The visit aimed to assess and evaluate the readiness of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program of the College of Management (CM) to offer a major in Business Analytics. The evaluation was conducted both onsite, at the Accreditation Room of the Administration Building, and online.

Representing the university on behalf of CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan were Dr. Rossandrew B. Villaruel, Director of Quality Assurance; Dr. Hazel D. Joaquin, Director of Instruction; Dr. Cleo Jude A. Joaquin, Main Campus Focal Person; Dr. Miraluna T. Sabid, Quality Assurance Chairperson; and Dr. Ian B. Arcega, Dean of the College of Management.

The evaluators included Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr., CHED Technical Panel Member for Business Management, Entrepreneurship, and Office Administration; Mr. Noel Antonio F. Paz, Education Program Specialist II of the CHED Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD); Dr. Cheryll L. Dawal, Administrator of West Visayas State University–Lambunao Campus; and Ms. Joeve Grace N. Gaborno, CHEDRO VI Education Supervisor II.

Also present during the visit were Prof. Rommel B. Sario, Systems Process Analyst; Dr. Emmanuel D. Dayalo, Student Affairs Services Chairperson; Prof. Christian George F. Acevedo, Head of Library Services; Dr. Emmy S. Batuigas, Librarian III; Ms. Dianesa T. Bialen, Librarian I; Mr. Frederick D. Almeida, Information Officer I; Dr. Pearl Joy Mirasol, faculty member of the College of Management; Prof. John Mark B. Dariagan, Designated Guidance Counselor; and Mr. Wennie F. Legario Jr., School Nurse.

Once CAPSU meets the required standards and secures CHEDRO VI’s approval, the university will proceed with its application for a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for the said program, which is expected to open in the next academic year.
