To equip the members of the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) with enhanced knowledge and skills, the Capiz State University (CAPSU), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office, conducted a three-day Training-Workshop on the Preparation of the GAD Agenda. The activity commences on October 1 until 3, 2025, at the Boardroom of the Central Administration Building, CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus.

SUC President III and CAPSU’s visionary leader, Dr. Efren L. Linan, warmly welcomed the participants, extending his gratitude to the resource speaker, and organizing committee for their active involvement in the training.
Following Dr. Linan’s message, Dr. Jesusa L. Luda, GAD Director, then presented the rationale of the activity. This was followed by the roll call of participants facilitated by Dr. Lanie E. Avelino, GAD Focal Person of Burias Campus. Meanwhile, Dr. Susan A. Diosalan, GAD Focal Person of the Main Campus, formally introduced the resource speaker.
The workshop’s resource speaker, Ms. Josephine Khaleen M. Sasuman, Chief of the Training and Program Development Division of the Department of Justice (DOJ) – Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution, engaged the participants in a series of insightful discussions on various GAD-related topics.
On the first day, she covered the Overview of the GAD Agenda, emphasizing its role in development planning; Environmental Scanning and Gender Analysis, which assessed the university’s existing gender issues; and Identifying CAPSU’s GAD Strategic Direction, focusing on the formulation of its GAD vision, mission, and goals. The succeeding sessions included Planning for Implementation and the crafting of a Re-Entry Action Plan.
Through this training-workshop, CAPSU aims to strengthen the capacity of GFPS members in mainstreaming GAD programs and initiatives, ensuring that the university continues to foster a safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive academic community.
