Roxas City, Capiz — September 12, 2025. Capiz State University was recognized by the Department of Science and Technology Region VI (DOST VI) as its partner during the closing ceremony of the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) 2025.

University President Dr. Efren L. Linan, proudly received the Plaque of Appreciation for CAPSU’s vital role and strong support in the success of this year’s celebration.

The three-day RSTW 2025 showcased not only breakthroughs in science, technology, and innovation but also highlighted the value of collaboration and partnerships in advancing inclusive development for Western Visayas.

Alongside CAPSU’s recognition, exhibitors were also recognized for their active role and for showcasing innovative products and research throughout the event.

The program opened with heartfelt renditions of the Philippine National Anthem, Prayer, Capiz Hymn, and DOST Hymn by the CAPSU Main Chorale.

A video presentation was also presented capturing the highlights of the weeklong celebration.

In his message, Engr. Rowen R. Gelonga, CESO II, DOST VI Regional Director, emphasized the crucial role of government, academe, and private sector partners in strengthening the region’s innovation ecosystem. As part of the program, a video teaser for the upcoming National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) 2025 was also presented, announcing that it will be held in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, on November 18–21, 2025.

Joining Linan during the closing program of the RSTW 2025 were other university key officials: Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, Prof. Angeline L. Vestidas, Socio-Cultural Affairs Director, Mr. Leo Anthony C. Navarrosa, MIS Director, Dr. Arnel Van V. Aleligay, CAPSU-DRRMO Director, Dr. Honey Lee E. Casa, Pontevedra Campus Administrator, Dr. Rodyard B. Madiclum, Burias Campus Administrator, Dr. Jennifer P. Benliro, Pilar Satellite College Director, Dr. Marie Jean P. Penson, Dumarao Satellite College Director, Dr. Eimee D. Potato, Sigma Satellite College Director, Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla, Mambusao Satellite College Director, and Ms. Fe Lynn L. Linan, Executive Assistant.

The ceremony closed with a message from Ms. Keithlyn Sarah B. Bernardino, DOST VI Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations, who emphasized the importance of sustaining partnerships and fostering regional excellence through science, technology, and innovation. As RSTW 2025 in Western Visayas drew to a close, the event reaffirmed DOST’s vision of science for the people.
