As One CAPSU Community: Librarians and Library Staff embark on Benchmarking and Learning Visits across Western Visayas
Librarians and library staff from across the Capiz State University (CAPSU) system embarked on a meaningful benchmarking and learning visit to five selected Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Western Visayas.
Composed of 30 library personnel, the CAPSU delegation had the opportunity to observe and document best practices in library operations and service delivery. They also explored effective strategies in resource management, library automation, policy implementation, and staffing practices that promote productivity and efficiency.

In a first-of-its-kind activity for CAPSU, the two-day benchmarking initiative featured visits to some of the region’s reputable academic libraries. On the first day, the delegation visited Aklan State University (ASU) – Banga Library, and the University of Antique (UA) – Tario Lim Memorial Campus Library and Sibalom Library. On the second day, they toured the Central Philippine University (CPU) – Henry Luce III Library, the University of San Agustin (USA) – Learning Resource Center, and West Visayas State University (WVSU) – University Learning Resource Center.
Throughout the visit, the delegation not only strengthened professional linkages and explored potential collaborations with peer institutions, but also gained valuable insights into the innovative practices of these well-established academic libraries — particularly in the areas of digitalization, automation, and client-focused services. | via M.J.
