The Capiz State University (CAPSU) hosted the AMOMA Stakeholders Convergence Meeting on April 23, 2025 at the Central Administration Board Room. It was attended by different stakeholders from government offices and private institutions.

AMOMA, an acronym for “Aton Mangunguma, Mangingisda kag Mamumugon Organisahon, Manggad nga dapat Amligan”, is an initiative by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) which aims to address the root causes of conflict and create a sustainable livelihood for the community for a long term peace. They partnered with various stakeholders from the government and private institutions in order to strengthen its programs and reach more beneficiaries.

PLTCOL Ricardo B. Jomuad Jr., Force Commander of the 1st Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company (CPMFC) of the CPPO briefed the attendees about the AMOMA program. He also provided updates and list of accomplished programs. PLTCOL Jomuad also led the forum which focused on the establishment of “tissue culture” laboratory in the province to assist farmers in increasing their production. Ways on how to market the farmers’ produce outside the country was also discussed with the Consultant from Four Bays Iman. Representatives from various government offices also pledged its support for the AMOMA program.

Dignitaries present in the meeting include Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) Director PBGEN Jack L. Wanky; PNP Capiz Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Director PCOL Albert D. Tapulao; Civil Service Commission (CSC) Field Office Capiz Director Dr. Vizur-Ty C. Gaitano; Ms. Ailyn B. Zerrudo, DSWD Capiz Field Office Coordinator; and Mr. Andy O. Laurilla, Provincial Manager of Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Capiz.

CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan led the welcoming of the guests to the university. Joining him were Atty. Toche Vic B. Doce, Chief Administrative Officer for Finance; Dr. Stephanie S. Pimentel, University Director for Research; Prof. Jocelyn S. Legaspi, University Director for Extension; Ms. Fe Lynn L. Linan, Executive Assistant to the President; and Engr. Marites Flores on behalf of the Roxas City Main Campus Focal Person. Selected faculty members and staff are also present in the meeting.

Dr. Linan wrapped-up the meeting with a call for sustained collaboration among the stakeholders for the benefit of Capizeños. He also expressed the full support of the university in the program in terms of research, extension and technology provision.
