The Ceremonial Turnover of Dairy Buffaloes was held on November 13, 2025, at Brgy. Binuntucan, Pontevedra, Capiz, bringing together key stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries in a meaningful celebration of community development.

Ms. Giselle R. Marcon of DOST, speaking on behalf of Provincial S&T Director Ms. Juafe M. Abareles, congratulated the beneficiaries and emphasized that the project reflects unity, partnership, and a shared commitment to uplifting farmers’ lives.

Representing CAPSU Pontevedra Administrator Dr. Honey Lee E. Casa, Dr. Pet Roana B. Batacandolo highlighted the turnover as a symbol of new hope and reaffirmed CAPSU’s continued support in improving farmers’ quality of life.

Prof. Jocelyn L. Legaspi encouraged beneficiaries to stay committed to the project, noting that the dairy buffaloes will help strengthen livelihood opportunities and combat hunger by providing nutritious milk for families.

The Barangay Captain of Binuntucan expressed heartfelt gratitude, sharing that the buffaloes symbolize the perseverance of farmers and the renewed hope the project brings to their community.

In her turnover message, Dr. Myrtel C. Alcazar of PCC-WVSU shared the background of the buffaloes and urged the community to care for them with love and responsibility, as they represent the foundation of a sustainable dairy enterprise.

Representing the Municipal Mayor of Pontevedra, Mr. Junel Bueno Castro underscored the LGU’s full support and highlighted the project’s role in boosting the local dairy industry and increasing income opportunities for farmers.

The event concluded with Dr. Emely J. Escala, CAPSU Livestock Research Development Center Director / Project Head for Dairy Buffaloes, expressing gratitude to all partners and stressing that unity and collaboration are key to empowering farmers and sustaining agricultural growth.

The turnover ceremony truly reflected partnership, hope, and a shared commitment to a more sustainable future for the farmers of Binuntucan.
