The Capiz State University (CAPSU) showcased the artistic excellence of its students during Pasundayag Year 2 held at Robinsons Place Roxas on March 16, where participants from the University’s nine campuses and satellite colleges gathered to highlight their talents in the performing arts.

This year’s edition featured a curated selection of winning performances from the recently concluded Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (RASUC) VI Culture and the Arts Festival and Conference 2026 held at the University of Antique (UA) last February, giving the CAPSU community and mallgoers a front seat to regional-caliber talent.

Dr. Annalie G. Campos, Vice President for Academic Affairs, opened the show by emphasizing the university’s commitment to promote culture and the arts. In her remarks, she noted that music, dance, and cultural expression are not merely extracurricular activities but vital pillars in shaping well-rounded and holistic students.

The program featured a series of performances that highlighted the students’ versatility and stage presence from powerhouse vocals to the dynamic choreography.

The audience also enjoyed captivating string performances and a witty and engaging theatrical act that drew laughter and attention from the crowd. Each performance was a demonstration of why these students were chosen to represent the University on the regional stage and advance to the national competition this coming April.

The University, headed by President Dr. Efren L. Linan, alongside with other key officials, attended in full force to witness the students’ performances.

“We are proud of you. You have already carried CAPSU beyond our classrooms and campuses,” Dr. Linan said. “You did not just perform; you excelled. You brought honor not only to CAPSU but to the entire Province of Capiz,” he added.

The show reached its momentum with a Unity Dance, where performers, faculty, and University officials joined together—a symbol of the collective spirit and “One CAPSU” identity. Organized by the CAPSU Socio-Cultural Affairs Office led by Prof. Angeline Vestidas, Pasundayag Year Two stands as a hallmark of the University’s 22nd University Day celebrations. It served as a vivid reminder that at CAPSU, excellence knows no bounds—thriving both in the heat of academic rigor and under the bright lights of the stage. | via Atty. Jaybe L.
