Music filled the historic halls of Ang Panublion Museum on October 15, 2025, as the Capiz State University (CAPSU) Roxas City Main Campus Chorale (CMC) held the second and final leg of its benefit concert titled “Concordia in Musica.”

The concert, which followed a successful first leg at the Sta. Teresa de Avila Parish Church on October 12, gathered an audience of music lovers, students, and local patrons of the arts. Among those in attendance were Roxas City Vice Mayor Inday Teresa Almalbis, who represented Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas, and several distinguished personalities from the city’s cultural and academic communities.

Guests were captivated by the choir’s soulful renditions of both local and international pieces. Their harmonies resonated across the museum’s walls, blending tradition and artistry in a celebration of music and purpose. The concert also featured heartfelt solo performances by Ms. Ralph Ronan L. Avelino (Alumni) and Ms. Jea de Vicente, as well as a charming duet by Edrian Masanda-an and Franz Ignas Bofill, which showcased the diverse talents within the group.

Adding to the evening’s magic was guest performer Ar. Jico C. Monte, whose collaboration with the CMC during the finale drew the audience into a moving sing-along moment.

Beyond its musical brilliance, “Concordia in Musica” carried a meaningful cause. The concert served as a fundraising event to support the CMC’s upcoming participation as Region 6’s representative in the NAMCYA National Finals to be held in Manila.

The concert was conducted by Dr. Vivian B. Apuang and Prof. Kimbie A. Arcangeles, both of whom have guided the chorale in its journey of excellence and community engagement. Alumni of the CMC also came in full support, reflecting the enduring bond among members across generations.

Key university officials joined the event to show their support, including Dr. Salvacion J. Legaspi, Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages; Prof. Angeline L. Vestidas, Socio-Cultural Affairs Director; Prof. Davidica Llorente-Avelino, Alumni and Community Affairs Director and University Job Placement Officer; Dr. Cleo Jude A. Joaquin, Focal Person for CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus; Dr. Hazel D. Joaquin, Director for Instruction; Prof. Polansky Pinky Barrientos, Socio-Cultural Affairs Coordinator; and Dr. Wennie F. Legario, faculty member of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology and former University Vice President for Administration and Finance.

In her message, Ms. Cheryl Anne del Rosario, Head of the Ang Panublion Museum and a steadfast partner of the CMC, expressed pride in the group’s achievements. “I have always believed in them. I have seen their growth and determination through the years. They have been participating and winning competitions, and they bring the name of Roxas City and Capiz to local, regional, national, and even international stages,” she said.

Ms. del Rosario also helped in gathering financial support from the audience and extended her gratitude to those who contributed to the cause.

“Concordia in Musica” stood as more than a concert. It was a celebration of community, compassion, and creative spirit. Through their voices, the CMC once again reminded Roxas City that music has the power to heal, unite, and inspire.

CAPSU extended its gratitude to the Roxas City Government, Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas, and Ms. Cheryl Anne del Rosario for their continued support. Those who wish to contribute to the CMC’s future performances and advocacies may reach out to Dr. Vivian B. Apuang, adviser of the CMC.
