The External Affairs and Linkages Office (EALO) is mandated to unceasingly build a strong connection and collaboration with other educational institutions, relevant government and non-government agencies, industries and other sectors of the society that can assist in accomplishing its task in accordance with the national agenda. It has to explore and identify possibilities of linkage development, cooperation and partnership with various sectors, local or international on area that will redound to the realization of its mission and vision.

EALO is an administrative office that provides mechanisms to expose the faculty, staff and students in various engagements especially to the global community to strengthen the University’s VMGO.

EALO is engage in the initiation, planning, implementation and monitoring of linkage activities. It promotes institutional, industrial and organizational collaboration and consortium with local and foreign universities, industries and organizations in the form of student internship and student and faculty exchange, joint research, exchange publication, sponsorship of conference, consortia for program implementation, faculty industry immersion, student industrial training and other academic activities.

With this, EALO also internationalize the ideas and perspectives of the academic community, open better understanding in cultural diversity, and nurture the students and faculty to compete in the increasing highly globalized world.

EALO serves as the primary channel of the University that accepts and scouts highly exceptional partners/collaborators to achieve the vision-mission statement.

In support in the University’s aspiration to achieve regulatory, adaptive and matched excellence; the EALO has been constantly working to achieve the following objectives:

  • Pursue academic excellence by sharing and learning from the expertise, experiences, and the best practices of people and professionals from the different parts of the globe;
  • Expose both student and faculty members to the understanding of other cultures, communities, and languages to foster harmonious relationships in the pursuit of mutual and consequently global advancement through faculty and student exchange program;
  • Expose students to the dimension of multicultural integration and adaptation while obtaining skills necessary for work-life through Student Internship Program in the Philippines(SIPP) Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP);
  • Be a part of creating inventive resolutions to challenges, build worldwide networks, and be emissaries for CapSU and the Philippines; and
  • Commit to building relationships that create resilient academic communities, independent societies, and a world where countries are prepared to work together to solve the issues that concern the majority.

    Dr. Mary Ann Botin-Martelino is a lover of education who never misses trying new things. She even took up Radio Operator Training Course at Panay State Polytechnic College, Burias Mambusao, Capiz and graduated with distinct honor from the same institution with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education. In 1981, she passed the Professional Board Examination for Teachers and Civil Service Professional Examination, and began teaching in 1983. Striving for excellence, she pursued her graduate studies at West Visayas State University with the degree of Master in Agriculture. She never faltered and continued to engage in professional growth that made her finished her Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Sciences at De La Salle Araneta University (formerly Gregorio Araneta University Foundation), Malabon, Metro Manila.

    Her expertise and commitment were recognized many times. In 1995, she was designated as the Associate Director of the Research Institute, an avenue that led her to share her love for research. She was seen as a woman of authority and leadership which made her the Chairman of the College of Agriculture and Forestry Department for two (2) years. She became a Director of the Office of the Student Services giving her the chance to provide opportunities to many students. She was able to help students reach their full potential and reach their goals despite the unpredictable waves of life.

    Her dedication towards her work and to her students has been shown in her massive efforts. She has been appointed as Campus Administrator of Capiz State University- Burias for six (6) years from 2005 to 2011. Her administration was a realization of her vision in motivating the students, faculty, and staff to perform at their best and bring Capiz State University, Burias Campus to the top.

    After her term as the Campus Administrator, she was designated as the Chairman of Doctor of Philosophy of the Agriculture Department. From 2012-2015, she once again became the Chair of the Office of the Student Affairs continuing her services to accommodate deserving students and bringing them to achieve success. Moreover, she also worked as Chair of Organic Poultry Production. In 2016, she returned as the Campus Administrator of Burias Campus cultivating a harmonious and fastidious work environment within the campus. And in 2017, she became the Director of the Office of the Student Affairs.

    As Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages, she is unlocking doors for faculty, staff and students to experience, collaborate and have more partnerships in other countries and industries/stakeholders.
