With the theme “𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒕𝒖𝒃𝒐: 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑺𝑼 𝑺𝒊𝒈𝒎𝒂 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒂 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝑨𝒄𝒕, 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒐𝒎 𝒐𝒇 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝑨𝑹𝑻𝑨, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒚𝒆𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔,” the Human Resource Department of Capiz State University Sigma Satellite College organized a two-day Faculty and Staff Development Seminar held at the CapSU Sigma Hometel Function Hall.
The event kicked off on May 22 with an opening program that featured the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, a prayer, and a warm welcome message delivered by Sigma Satellite College Director, Dr. Eimee D. Potato. The seminar aimed to enhance professional development among the faculty and staff by focusing on critical governance and employee wellness topics.
The first series of lectures began with Atty. Toche Doce, Chief Administrative Officer for Finance and Head of the Legal Unit, who discussed the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) in celebration of the Ease of Doing Business Month 2025.
This was followed by Mr. Rector John A. Latoza, Administrative Officer V and Data Protection Officer, who lectured on the Data Privacy Act. Completing the morning sessions, Prof. Christian F. Acevedo, Director for Public Relations, provided an insightful talk on the Freedom of Information Act.
An open forum allowed participants to engage with the speakers, followed by a lunch break and interactive icebreaker session.
The afternoon focused on financial and health wellness, featuring a seminar with representatives from key government agencies.
GSIS Representatives Ms. Antofe Abelarde and Mr. Hector Oquindo tackled Financial Literacy, Retirement, and Other Updates. Little Rhoda Manalang presented the Pag-Ibig Fund Membership Orientation and Other Updates, while Mary Jane V. Amigo, SIO III Information Officer of PhilHealth LHIO Capiz, discussed the PhilHealth Konsulta Package and Other Benefits. The session was concluded by Ma. Riza Parcon, who provided a comprehensive SSS Orientation and Information Drive.
The session concluded with another open forum, fostering an interactive environment for deeper understanding and application, building a well-informed, empowered, and welfare-conscious workforce ready to uphold the highest standards in education and public service.
