Capiz State University (CAPSU) proudly showcased its excellence in extension, innovation, and service during the 14th PASUC EMC Annual Regional Symposium and General Assembly with the theme “Extension Beyond Boundaries: Strengthening Impact Through Innovation, Inclusion, and Integration”, held at the University of Antique on September 30 to October 5, 2025, bringing home multiple awards across clusters and categories.


In the Agri-Fishery, Food, and Environment Cluster, Dr. Roselyn Preciosa Cabantud secured 3rd Place for Extension Paper with her project, “Bonsai for All: Bringing Opportunities and Nourishing Stakeholders’ Abilities and Ideas for Alternative Learning and Livelihood.”
CAPSU also made a remarkable impact in the Environmental Stewardship, Climate Action, and Circular Economy Cluster. The project “InnovAction: Sustaining Innovation and Entrepreneurship through the CAPSULE Incubation Program for SDG-Driven Development” (Dr. Efren L. Linan) earned the Best Extension Paper and the Best Extension Poster Award. Moreover, Mr. French Dampog was recognized as Best Extension Presenter, highlighting CAPSU’s dedication to impactful research dissemination.
The Extension Poster Category also brought further pride with GRAND SLAM wins:

  • Best Extension Poster – InnovAction: Sustaining Innovation and Entrepreneurship through the CAPSULE Incubation Program (Dr. Efren L. Linan)
  • 2nd Place – Bonsai for All: Bringing Opportunities and Nourishing Stakeholders’ Abilities and Ideas for Alternative Learning and Livelihood (Dr. Roselyn Cabantud)
  • 3rd Place – Resilient, Innovative, and Sustainable Enterprises through CEST Program in Navitas, Panay, Capiz (Dr. Stephanie S. Pimentel)
    In the Video Documentary Category, the project “Resilient, Innovative, and Sustainable Enterprises through CEST Program in Navitas, Panay, Capiz” secured 3rd Place.
    Beyond the awards, CAPSU also extended professional service to the symposium. Ms. Rae Norrein S. Ledesma and Mr. Jiro Emmanuel Bangud served as Session Moderators/Facilitators, while Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar and Dr. Jonan P. Burgos contributed their expertise as Evaluators in the Community-Based Health, Nutrition, and Wellness Category.
    These achievements reflect CAPSU’s unwavering commitment to advancing research, extension, and sustainable development initiatives, further solidifying its role as a leading academic institution in the region.
