The College of Education (COEd) – Graduate Program of Capiz State University (CAPSU) – Roxas City Main Campus in partnership with Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi (UMKO) in Indonesia, conducted a research mentoring engagement on May 19, 2025. The event was held at the Boardroom of the Central Administration Building and streamed via online.

Four graduate students presented their research papers for review and feedback, namely:

1. Michael Vincent C. Barrera, a candidate for Doctor of Education major in Industrial Education Management degree, presented his thesis titled, “Unveiling the Stories and Traditions behind Local Cuisines.”

2. Loverel D. Barce, a candidate for Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management degree, presented her thesis titled, “Parental Involvement in School: Barriers, Challenges, and Strategies.”

3. James A. Olorosisimo, a candidate for Master of Arts in Education major in Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH) degree, presented his thesis titled, “Development and Validation of Pukot Dance Steps Composition.”

4. Andrew D. Buenvenida, a candidate for Master of Arts in Education major in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) with specialization in Home Economics degree, presented his thesis titled, “Nata de Fruta: Formulation, Analyses, and Acceptability.”

UMKO faculty members Dr. Irawan Suprapto and Dr. Sigit Suharjono served as external panelists. They generously offered constructive insights to help strengthen each study.

The engagement was organized by the Office of External Affairs and Linkages, headed by Vice President Dr. Salvacion J. Legaspi and Dr. Marien A. Laureto, Director of International and National Affairs. From the COEd – Graduate Program, Dr. Hazel D. Joaquin, Dean of the COEd, led the initiative. Dr. Marybelle D. Amenamen, Program Chair of the Doctoral Program, officially closed the program, while Dr. Charess Joy Dela Cruz, COEd faculty member, served as the host with support from the other program chairs.
