The Office of Quality Assurance (QA) of Capiz State University (CAPSU) Roxas City Main Campus conducted an Internal Assessment Body (IAB) review on March 3 at the Gabaldon Building, Main Campus Library, as part of its preparations for the Level III and Level IV accreditation of the College of Education’s (COED) undergraduate and graduate programs.

Dr. Cleo Jude A. Joaquin, Roxas City Main Campus Focal Person, welcomed the attendees and underscored the importance of the activity in reinforcing the campus’ culture of quality and excellence.

“Today, we are here not just to comply, but to show our commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. As we prepare for accreditation, we understand that this is more than just a title. It reflects the quality of our teaching, the strength of our research and extension work, the capability of our faculty, and most importantly, the success of our students,” Dr. Joaquin said.

Dr. Rossandrew B. Villaruel, University Director for Quality Assurance, also delivered his remarks and formally introduced the IAB accreditors who led the evaluation process. Meanwhile, Dr. Elmer M. Albaladejo, Main Campus Assistant Chairperson for Quality Assurance, presented the COED dean, program chairpersons, and members of the local accreditation task force.

The programs reviewed during the activity included the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) major in Science; Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) major in Home Economics and Industrial Arts; Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd); and Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) major in Educational Management. The assigned IAB accreditors assessed key areas as follows: Dr. Rasco C. Daliva (Research), Dr. Fe Mae L. Laborte (Performance of Graduate School), Dr. Grazl T. Baria (Community Services), Dr. Marien A. Laureto (International Linkages and Consortia), and Dr. Judel V. Protacio (Planning).

Likewise, the Master of Arts in Education major in Physical Education program underwent evaluation by Dr. Doreen D. Ata-al (Instruction), Dr. Mae Ann A. Balbino (Faculty Development), Dr. Jereline D. De Pablo (Research), and Dr. Marianne A. Escleto (Library).

With the upcoming accreditation visit scheduled on March 23–25, 2026, by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP), CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus stands resolute in its mission to sustain a culture of quality, innovation, and excellence, ensuring that its programs remain relevant, competitive, and responsive to the needs of its stakeholders and the communities it serves.
