
The Capiz State University (CAPSU), through its External Affairs and Linkages (EAL) Office, conducted an information session on the Taiwan International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE) for students of the Roxas City Main Campus on February 27 at the Dadivas Gymnasium.
Representing CAPSU Vice President for EAL Dr. Salvacion J. Legaspi, Alumni and Community Affairs Director Prof. Davidica L. Avelino welcomed the attendees, together with guests from the International Talent Circulation (INTACT) Base Taiwan–Philippines Iloilo Office.
In her message, Prof. Avelino emphasized that the session aimed to give students a clearer understanding of the program’s objectives, academic structure, qualifications, application procedures, and benefits, particularly in strengthening global competence, language proficiency, and professional readiness.
During the session proper, Dr. Nemia H. Mabaquiao, Consultant of INTACT Base Taiwan–Philippines, presented an overview of the INTENSE Program. Meanwhile, Ms. Michelle Diongco, Mandarin Language Lecturer from Cheng Shiu University in Taiwan, gave participants a glimpse of learning the Mandarin and appreciating Taiwanese culture.
According to its official website, the Taiwan INTENSE Program, launched by the Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) in 2024, seeks to attract outstanding international students and develop globally competitive industrial talents through academic and employment opportunities in Taiwan.
Also present at the activity were Dr. Cleo Jude A. Joaquin, Main Campus Focal Person; Engr. Anacleto Cortez, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME); Engr. Ma. Adeline Diaz, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE); Engr. Peter Fantinalgo, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BSArch); and Dr. Ace Barredo, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIndTech); and Prof. Marvie L.
