To assess the readiness and compliance of Capiz State University (CAPSU) with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015, the different offices of the Central Administration underwent an Internal Quality Audit (IQA) on September 18–19, 2025. The audit was conducted by the pool of auditors from CAPSU Pontevedra Campus.
In her message, Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, Vice President for Administration and Finance, underscored the importance of the assessment in ensuring that the university’s Quality Management System (QMS) remains aligned with ISO standards.

“By subjecting our university to the ISO process, we demonstrate our commitment to delivering quality services, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and enhancing stakeholder satisfaction,” she said. Dr. Martelino further emphasized that the audit is a vital step in sustaining the university’s certification and accountability.
“As we undergo this internal audit, I challenge each and every one of you to continue striving for excellence in your respective roles. Let us use this opportunity to identify areas for improvement and implement changes that will strengthen our systems and processes. Let us work together to ensure that the Central Office of Capiz State University remains a model of efficiency and effectiveness,” she added, urging everyone to actively engage in the audit process.
The IQA team from Pontevedra Campus was composed of Dr. Fe Mae L. Laborte (Team Leader), Dr. Ferdinand Anabo, Dr. Napoleon Albor, Jr., Dr. Marianne Escleto, Dr. Ronel Reproto, Dr. Charlie Dublon, Ms. Gelene Alvarez, Dr. Jonan Burgos, Prof. Malou B. Albor, Dr. Mae Ann Balbino, Mr. Junarey Doletin, Mr. Jiro Emmanuel Bangud, and Ms. Jillian Hurtada. Each member presented their findings and provided recommendations for improvement.
Dr. Matilde A. Perez, Quality Management System (QMS) Director, expressed profound gratitude to the auditors for sharing their time and expertise, and likewise commended the Central Administration personnel for their full support and cooperation.
On behalf of CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan, Dr. Annalie G. Campos, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the commitment and closing message. She encouraged everyone to work collectively toward achieving the university’s mission of providing excellent service to its stakeholders within the CAPSU community and beyond.
The two-day Internal Quality Audit serves as part of CAPSU’s preparation for the upcoming 1st Surveillance Audit (3rd Cycle), which will be conducted in December 2025 by the external auditor from NQA, the university’s ISO certifying body.
