The Capiz State University (CAPSU) will undergo Level IV accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) for selected programs of the Roxas City Main and Pontevedra campuses. The three-day evaluation began with an opening program hosted via Zoom at the Central Administration boardroom on December 1, 2025.
Dr. Annalie G. Campos, Vice President for Academic Affairs welcomed the accrediting team via a video message. She expressed her appreciation to the team and looks forward to their objective and comprehensive review of the two programs.
Dr. Campos also recognized the effort and preparations made by the local task force of the two campuses. “This is your opportunity to collectively showcase the integrity, resilience and genuine passion that defines our academic community.”, she said.
Dr. Rossandrew B. Villaruel, Quality Assurance Director of CAPSU, introduced the university key officials, campus administrators and the quality assurance chairpersons of the two campuses to the accrediting team.
The AACCUP accreditors are led by Dr. Carlo T. Nabo from the Western Mindanao State University. He is joined by Dir. Aurora E. Casuga from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Dr. Lea V. Lustre from Partido State University, Dr. Florenda S. Frivaldo from Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Dr. Walter G. Valdez from Bataan Peninsula State University and Dr. Armando D. Vale from University of Rizal System.
In his message, Dr. Nabo set a collaborative tone for this online survey visit, stating the intent of his team to “speak in one language” – the language of quality assurance – with the local task force, to ensure continuous institutional improvement.
The programs under review are: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Business Analytics, and Master in Public Administration of the Roxas City Main Campus; and the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering of Pontevedra Campus.
The opening program was also attended in the boardroom by Dr. Cleo Jude A. Joaquin, Focal Person of Roxas City Main Campus; Atty. Joey B. Balatayo, OIC of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Miraluna T. Sabid, Quality Assurance Chairperson of Roxas City Main Campus; Dr. Ian B. Arciga, Dean of the College of Management of Roxas City Main Campus; and the program chairpersons from the College Management.
Present virtually via Zoom were Dr. Honey Lee E. Casa, Campus Administrator of Pontevedra Campus; Dr. Fe Mae L. Laborte, Quality Assurance Chairperson of Pontevedra Campus; program chairpersons of Pontevedra campus; and the local task force members of both campuses.
As highlighted by Dr. Annalie G. Campos, this accreditation process is a cornerstone event demonstrating CAPSU’s profound and unwavering commitment to quality assurance and the pursuit for academic excellence.
