The Capiz School of Fisheries was established by virtue of Republic Act 685 in 1952. Its temporary site is at Cadimahan, Roxas City and was transferred to its present site at Dayao,Roxas City on December 9, 1964.
The Capiz School of Arts and Trades and the Capiz School of Fisheries were fused and converted into Capiz Institute of Technology by virtue of Republic Act No. 5711 in 1969. The two departments were known as CIT-Department of Arts and Trades and CIT-Department of Fisheries.
On October 25, 1999, by virtue of RA 8760 the Capiz Institute of Technology which was divided into the Departments of Arts and Trades and the Department of Fisheries were integrated with Panay State Polytechnic College.
In 2004, PSPC was converted to Capiz State University by virtue of RA No. 9273 on March 21, 2004

The Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) is an undergraduate teacher education degree program designed to prepare individuals intending to teach in the elementarylevel.
The program aims to develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in the content and pedagogy for elementary education.
After successful completion of all academic requirements of the degree/program, graduates of BEEd should be able to practice the teaching profession in the elementary level.

The Bachelor of Science in Food Technology (BSFT) is a discipline based on the application of science and related fields of study in the conversion of raw materials into safe, stable, palatable and nutritious foods. It includes the post-harvest handling, preparation, processing, packaging, storage and distribution of food to ensure food and nutrition security, safety and the well-being of individuals, families and communities.

It also includes the social, cultural, economic, managerial and entrepreneurial, and environmental aspects of food systems as well as the art of food preparation.

The program focuses on a mix of pure and applied science, engineering, business and entrepreneurial skills. The field of criminology is the study of crime and the various agencies of justice as they operate and react to crime, criminals and victims. It is therefore the mission of the Criminology program to provide the community with professionally competent and morally upright graduates who can deliver efficient and effective services in crime prevention, crime detection and investigation, law enforcement, public safety, custody and rehabilitation of offenders, criminological research, among others.

CAPSU Dayao Satellite College celebrates new fisheries professionals, topnotcher leads batch

Capiz State University (CAPSU) marked a momentous occasion by feting its successful examinees of the October 2025 Fisheries Professional Licensure Examination (FPLE) during the Pasidungog 2025 ceremony, held on December 11, 2025, at the Dayao Satellite College Covered Gym.

Dayao Satellite College dominates Sports; Roxas City Main Campus reigns in Culture and Arts at CAPSU Festival

Dayao Satellite College proved to be the powerhouse in the sports category, dominating the field with a haul of 84 gold, 52 silver, and 22 bronze medals. The Roxas City Main Campus followed in second with 56 gold, 95 silver, and 56 bronze medals, while Dumarao Satellite College rounded out the top three with 55 gold, 14 silver, and 24 bronze medals.

CAPSU BSF Graduate Placed Top 10 in the October 2025 Fisheries Professional Licensure Examination

Mr. Christian O. Jimenez, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, Batch 2025, from CAPSU Dayao Satellite College, for placing Top 10, in the October 2025 Fisheries Professional Licensure Examination (FPLE), with a rating of 88.50%.

Dr. Linan wraps up campus tour at Dayao, Pilar, Bailan and Burias campuses

Dr. Efren L. Linan, SUC President III of Capiz State University (CAPSU), successfully concluded his campus visits on November 11 at Dayao and Pilar Satellite Colleges, and on November 12 at Pontevedra and Burias campuses. The visit was full of colors, merriment and celebration, as each campus held its own unique way of showing their warm welcome and appreciation to the president.
