The Capiz State University (CAPSU) has been recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) – Schools Division of Capiz (SDO Capiz) for its strong support to the division’s various programs delivering quality basic education to learners across the province.
The award was given during the 2025 Partners and Stakeholders’ Recognition and Appreciation program held on November 28, 2025 at Kapis Mansions, Barangay Banica, Roxas City.

The Roxas City Main and Pontevedra Campuses, together with the three faculty members namely Dr. Dennis O. Asurquin (Burias Campus), Dr. Mayflor C. Asurquin (Main Campus) and Engr. Jeng B. Batacandolo (Main Campus), were specifically cited by DepEd SDO Capiz for their contributions.
Accepting the awards on behalf of the Main Campus were Dr. Cleo Jude Joaquin, campus Focal Person and Prof. Gemma B. Angelias, Extension Chairperson. For the Pontevedra Campus, Dr. Jonan P. Burgos, Extension Chairperson, received the award on behalf Dr. Honey Lee E. Casa, the campus administrator.
This recognition serves as a testament to the active engagement of the CAPSU’s campuses and satellite colleges in their respective communities. It reinforces the university’s commitment, under the leadership of university president Dr. Efren L. Linan, to align the extension initiatives with the real needs of the community, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and social transformation.
